I find this all sadly predictable . I wonder how this will go down with the local MP? A major local sporting facility lost in his constituency leading up to the olympics by some corrupt foreign property speculating parasites.

I think we should reserve judgement until we know all the facts. If they want to sell their property that is their right. Champion Hill is also metropolitan land, it would be extremely difficult for anyone to build flats on that pitch. Especially in this climate, it's not as profitable as it once was.
Probably going against common opinion but Sami/Eren spent a lot of money on Fisher, going into the millions. And we all had a great time riding the crest of a wave. And then the money ran out and they suffered along with everyone else.
Rumour has it they're recovering and bottom line is they are still owners of the Surrey Docks Stadium. I still have hope we will one day return to a shiney new stadium. They still care about this club I know that much.
Not sure what the foreign aspect has to do with it Rich, for your information Sami and Eren are both half Turkish born here, exactly the same as me.

Point taken that they have sunk plenty into the club in the past, but that was then and this is now. It is just plain wrong that a community sports facility can face closure just at the whim of property development.
I suspect the Hamlet forums will be buzzing over this, it will be interesting what sort of campaign they get going, as they have far more to lose.
Will the Fisher committee be having a meeting to discuss the implications of this story once the facts are out there for all to see?
FYI I have been on the agents website and there is no mention of this property, so lets hope it is still a very long way off.
Sorry I can't make it to Faversham this weekend, but Haringey Borough awaits
Cmon the Fish!

Morning all,
First of all - let's not kid ourselves. Fisher Athletic folded due to the non-payment of tax to the HMRC. Yes the "money ran out", but if the club had paid it's obligations instead of throwing money against parasitic footballers it would have been a lot easier to adjust to needing to go amateur.
The scenario of Sami selling Champion Hill to fund development at the Surrey Docks Stadium sound nice, but I'm not sure how probable or possible this is. More likely to have a fire sale of assets and maybe try and finish off those flats in Deptford which are lying incomplete ready for the upturn.
The Fisher Committee do need to discuss the long term prospects for the club playing somewhere. Without some pretty incredible fund raising we don't have many options open to us.
