Fisher come from behind at Gay Dawn!
2 strikes, probably both in injury time, secured a point for Fisher at Corinthian this afternoon. A piledriver from Andre 'Ice Cold' Brooks and an overhead kick from Elstrom 'Til I' Dye saw scenes of jubiliation reminscent of the last battle of Southwark. A beautiful day out, lovely weather, nice beer (apparently), Sophie the Corinthian programme editor...
Our first point, players and supporters celebrating as one, finding my mobile after I dropped it enthusiastically retrieving the ball, Freya's potty... the list goes on.
See you Monday

That was quite a comeback. God knows where the ref got all the injury time (though I suppose the ball needed to be retrieved from the shrubbery on numerous occasions). But then God knows where he got the penalty decision from too, so fair's fair.
Gay Dawn Farm was a top venue for a game in late August. It may not be quite as much fun in mid-January!
Andre's goal in particular was something special. Although some doubting Timothys in the crowd were still telling him he should have passed it even as the ball hit the back of the net...

Yes, got to take your hat off to the side for not giving up and pulling back a two goal deficite with 90 minutes on the clock. Corinthian will probably be gutted to not hold on to their lead but in fairness I think it's the least we deserved. By far the better side in the first half but we need to be more ruthless in front of goal. Had several good chances and most of the play. Thought it would turn out like the Greenwich Borough game where we missed two sitters early on before they went on to gain a flattering win. We're not far away and the team proved they've got a bit about them and good potential as they continue to gel.
Hythe last week was a mis-match but looking at how Kent League sides faired in the FA Cup yesterday the standard is pretty strong. Sevonoaks who are fifth from bottom got a 1-1 draw with Dulwich and Hythe beat Eastbourne Town (another Ryman team) 4-0 at home. Hopefully they get promoted this season because it's no good for anyone having a side head and shoulders above the rest blizing sides every week.
Anyway well done Fish, got something on the board now and hopefully we can build on this.
