why do we need a director of football ?? were not in the blue square anymore ??
we seem to have appointed him straight away didn't we have any other people available who interviewed him what was the process
the new manager we are leaving it very late to put someone in charge should have had this done last week or before players will be getting snapped up
shame we couldn't find someone who could perhaps put some money in for a small wage kitty like £50 a week etc
i imagine we will get a lot of interest in people backing the club like when AFC Wimbledon started
The new manager should be someone who knows the Kent league well and knows what it needs to get us promoted and going up the ladder to the ryman league

Sounds a little fishy to me, (excuse the pung) lets get this right; the director of football gets voted in by who? The members meeting not until the 22nd, So how did he get the job, even if a small committee voted surely people should have been given the chance? My point is if managers are having to go through a panel of committee to get the managers job what did the football Director have to do then? I’m sure Dave Mehmet would have like to been considered for this Role? Did he get asked? Or did anyone think. Hmmmmmmmm (I feel did man really get to the moon) lets see if there are any connection between the football Director and the new manager? So again even though it’s a fans choice, under the table tac tics have commenced by the sound of it and we even not got a team in place. New start as Jim Royal once said my arse............

All the positions - chairman, director of football... even the website editor are interim as we had to get a committee up and running to get the club application in. I hope that these will be confirmed at the meeting on Monday night.
This has to be a new start - people will soon walk away if its not. I don't agree that it's "under the table"... we've had to move quickly and have now got a club playing in a senior league in just over 3 weeks. But if we don't do things right, we may as well pack it in now.
Get involved at any time!

Formal elections for club officers will be held at Mondays AGM. There it is hoped we will have a new manager unveiled to the clubs members. Hopefully we will have the AGM and a meet the manager section afterwards.
The chairman was elected by all at the first meeting to get things moving and we've had to act quickly. As you say we couldn't sit around any longer without a manager in place and thats close to being finalised.
The person (I'm not privey to the name of the person by the way) I've been assured will be an up and coming manager with great enthusiasm and will know the football scene at this level very well. Someone with a huge contacts book.
Dave Mehmet was given first refusal but is basically not interested.
Please to anyone with an axe to grind, come down on Monday and have your say. Put yourself up for election, question the decisions made thus far. That's how we'll become the club we all want it to be.

No idea, Martin's keeping his cards close to his chest. But from what I gather a certain Wayne Burnett has also been involved in the decision making process....

Joe,
Do appreciate you coming on here Joe, but don’t you find it strange that the fans and a new committee take place, and you find rules are changing when it suites
Questions that I will be asking tonight • Where was the Director of Football Advertised? If there are rules for a manager then there must be rules for this, and down to the committee to put a proper interview process, seems to me bobs landed on his feet. • There was only three members on the committee doing the process for the manager (Bob,Martin,Bert) Where does Wayne Burnett come in to this?
Seems to me that anyone that may have money to pump into the players will get the managers job,

The Committee did indeed agree a 3-man panel. The only involvement Wayne should have had - if any - was to be a reference for any candidate.
This club will not be a hostage to anyone pumping in money. Any donations/loans above a certain level will be public, as will our accounts. We will be run as an Industrial and Provident Society. The club is also being run on an amateur basis so I can't see where your link with investment has come from.
I think your hostility towards the "Director of Football" is misplaced. All positions are interim as we've said so "landed on his feet" isn't appropriate. Bob Davies happens to have excellent contacts, a record of service to previous Fisher clubs and put himself forward at the initial meeting. Whether he carries on is as much up for grabs, as if I carry on as press secretary.
So please, Sad Git, come on down. Will be nice to put a face against the description...

Well my friends, at least we've got tonight to put forward our annoyances, that's certainly a start....
I may have had issues with the three member committee but I have great respect for the people who were picked.
Martin is our chairman and was a non league manager for 20 odd years, Bob Davies has non league managerial experience and credentials and Bert is possibly the most respected Fisher supporter of thirty years standing.
Wayne Burnett has made recommedations, that is all.
See you tonight!

Tim and Joe make good points. You have to bear in mind that the club is being put together over a matter of weeks. It has been clear that committee members are interim pending formal elections to the posts, but you need people who are prepared to put the effort in to get things off the ground. But there is no reason the interim DoF post should have been advertised any more than the interim chairman or press secretary. We should be grateful that people are willing to put their time and effort into this.
Establishing a selection panel for the manager's post is not unusual either - we don't want to be myfootballclub.com, with every little thing put to the vote at the expense of actually getting things done.
I do think that the club need to continue to be open as we go forward, and my view is that all decisions taken at committee meetings should be formally published on the web so that fans can follow the decision-making process, and so that no-one can be accused of doing things 'behind closed doors'. Appreciate that time constraints have made this difficult so far, but it would have been helpful if the process for appointing the manager had been published in advance.

No announcements then? Was so looking forward to last night, and who the new manager was? So there is a choice of two, I wonder who it could be, Worrying that 80% of Kent league Premier teams will be back training this week, we are all aware that players will do the circuits for the best offer, but clubs are signing there players already, Beckenham, Holmesdale, Greenwich Borough, even the might Sporting Bengal have there’s in place, Even though I think Tim, and Dan are working hard behind the scenes to put all this, in place the fans club (respect to ya) the building blocks to put this team in place should have been done by now. Good luck for the coming season

I can't see many players in the Kent League being given contracts, all signed on non contract basis. You'll find invaribly at this level that if the Manager signs on Monday morning, four players are signed after lunch - half a dozen follow the next day and by the middle of the week we'll have a 20 man squad. Players will want to join us.
Martins got two evenly matched candidates and possibly one or two coming up strong on the rails. He's taking his time over making the correct decision. We are still two / three weeks away from pre-season. If I was a betting man I would expect an announcement by the end of the week.

Great that people are getting involved in and are interested in the decision making processes behind the new club.
Things are moving fast, and they have to as sadgit points out. We don't want to be left behind.
Openness and transparency are key elements in the ethos of the new club.
Bear with us. We are setting things in place for a sound future and are letting people know what's going on as soon as we know it.
Come along to members meetings. Keep posting and reading replies.
Be there at the start!
